|Your logic is flawed when you note that you make captions for the visually impaired. The pictures are 100x bitter than any font, which makes those pointless captions quite pointless. Just post the picture. Folks that have visual impairments know how to make their screens bigger and more accessible anyway. It's built into computers. Your captions only provide them something else to squint and focus needlessly on. Coming from a person with visual issues, trust me when I say this. The captions are distracting and unneeded.|
The captions are for use with SCREEN READERS. Google exists. It’s in the FAQ.
And considering the feedback I’ve had from people who use screen readers, I would say they are needed and appreciated.
And if they’re “distracting” (oh god the text! It’s attacking me I can’t possibly ignore it!) then go write a sad poem in your journal about it and move on.
Note: I’m only posting this because I keep getting smart arse anons thinking they can pull “your logic is flawed” at me because the text is smaller than the image. SCREEN READERS. Do I need to repeat that again? S-C-R-E-E-N R-E-A-D-E-R-S. Go bother someone else, or start an anti-image description tumblr or whatever other crap you want to pull. Any more complaints about the image descriptions will be laughed at and then deleted.
